A flame broke out on the 22nd story of the Hiranandani Towers situated at Kandivali West in Mumbai after 1 p.m. on Thursday.
Eight flame tenders and two ambulances have hurried to the spot. It has been reviewed as a level III flame, demonstrating that it is a genuine episode.
The 32-story building has two storm cellars and a ground level.
The reason for the flame is not known yet. Firefighting operations including 20 vehicles, including fire motors and water tankers, are under way.
"No one caught thus, building is completely emptied, quenching and pursuit operation is on," the main flame officer present at the spot told journalists.
